Stari Grad Public Library
2007, Hvar (Croatia) – A city library in a historical building has been designed focusing a user friendliness. Respecting existing structures strong, simple and solid materials are used.
Merely two types of materials are chosen – metal and wood. This emphasizes the history of the building and creates a relaxed, calm and undisturbed library space . Also, due to the limitations of space, a mezzanine was built to double the space for more bookcases.
